Realised black box theatre production

My Role: Set and Costume designer and maker
Location: The Rep (Birmingham)
Director: Mel Daly

This piece, based off the iconic story of Peter Panwas an immersive, non-verbal performance created for young people with learning difficulties. Our main goal was to create a playground for the young people which encouraged interaction, movement and engaged the senses. This performance was devised in a week in response to the original story and the set and costumes I had designed. We focused on the lost boys as the main characters with mischievous Tinkerbell as another character who was also the musician, playing live music throughout the experience. I created different areas within the space - the night sky (the flight into Neverland), the tunnel underground to the lost boys den, the lagoon and the pirate ship wreck. Each area had a different feel and created a maze-like space full of sensory elements and interactive props.
